Varicose veins typically show up as a result of weakened valves and veins in your legs and feet. When your valves and veins don’t function properly, your blood can flow in the wrong direction.

Venous reflux disease (chronic venous insufficiency) is a medical condition that occurs when your veins can’t carry your old and used blood back up from your legs properly.

A multitude of factors can increase your risk of developing varicose veins, such as:

  • Excess body weight
  • Genetics and family history

Endovenous ablation

Endovenous ablation is a convenient in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia. It involves the use of ultrasound to position a tiny catheter into your varicose vein. Dr. Hubach safely and carefully delivers laser energy through the catheter to heat and seal your vein. You return to normal activities the same day as your procedure.

Sclerotherapy

With sclerotherapy (chemical ablation of larger veins), Dr. Hubach uses a special foam to close abnormal veins on the surface of your skin. Sclerotherapy typically involves small injections of an FDA approved solution into your veins.

Minimally invasive treatments like sclerotherapy are performed in the office in 30- 60 minute sessions.

Phlebectomy

With phlebectomy, Dr. Hubach uses a needle to make small incisions close to the vein. He uses a phlebectomy hook to remove the veins. Phlebectomy is a simple minimally invasive procedure performed with a local anesthetic.
